Joan B. Coover, a dedicated laboratory technician and cherished member of her community, passed away on July 9, 2025, at the Lancaster Rehab & Nursing Facility. Born on March 28, 1943, in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, Joan lived her life with a spirit of service and a commitment to excellence.
A graduate of Ephrata High School, Joan completed her education in 1961 before embarking on a rewarding career in the medical field. She served as a laboratory technician for Wyeth Laboratory in West Chester, where she devoted many years to her profession before retiring in 1975. Joan was not only passionate about her career but also actively engaged in her community. She was a valued member of the Lancaster Christian Fellowship Club and the Blue Mountain Eagle Club in Reading. These affiliations demonstrated her commitment to building connections and supporting the well-being of those around her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to resonate in the lives of those she touched.
Joan will be remembered by her family, including her two nephews, Lewis Coover and Gary Coover, as well as her niece, Barbara Aleolexi.
A celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, August 16th, and 11:00 a.m., at Gravenor Sipler Funeral & Cremation Centre, Inc.; 100 W. Main Street, Ephrata, PA 17522. Joan’s final resting place will be at Mohler Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
