Joan H. Croce, 95, of Evansville, passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital. She was born September 27, 1929, in Evansville to the late James and Agnes (Hoing) Hallinan.
Joan was a graduate of Memorial High School and later Evansville College. She earned her master's degree from the University of Southern California. Joan began her teaching career at Tekoppel Elementary School in Evansville. She later worked for the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Germany, France, and Italy for over 42 years. Joan was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Daylight.
She is survived by her children, James (Renee) Croce of Evansville; Michele (Bruce) Knutson of Madison, AL; Leslie Croce of Evansville; and Matthew (Kathy) Croce of Palo Alto, CA; grandchildren, Cambria Davis, Andrew Knutson, Vincent Croce, and Becca Croce; and great-grandson, Henry Knutson.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Fulvio Croce; brother, James Hallinan; and sister, Pat Johnson.
Friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 5301 Daylight Drive, Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Father Aaron Herrenbruck officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.

I will always remember her. She was a beautiful lady and came to the nursing homes to dedicate the flag with my friend Ruth. Thank you for always coming and loving the people.
