Joan Donahue Obituary

She was a proud and dedicated Registered Nurse, Joan helped to start the intensive and coronary unit at Point Pleasant Hospital. After bedside nursing Joan went on to share her wealth of knowledge by teaching and inspiring students in the nursing program at Ocean County Vocational School. After her nursing career Joan continued to help others heal and guide them on their spiritual journey through meditation groups.
Joan is preceded in death by her mother Edna (Duffy) Zitzner, her brother Raymond Zitzner, and her sister Marilyn Bowcock.
She will be forever held in the hearts of her loving family: her husband of 68 years, William Donahue, many loving nieces and nephews, as well as a wealth of extended family and friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, March 31, 2025, from 10am to 12pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Rd., Toms River, NJ. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.carmonabolenfh.com. Joan ... you were and will always be a very special person..for all that you did in the community, w/ bill and all those wonderful 'metaphysical' videos that I still watch today... they're wonderful .. just like you : o ) ...
