Maria Santos

Maria Santos, 94, passed away peacefully at home in Toms River, NJ, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved parents Custodio and Faustina Silvestre and her brother Eugenio Silvestre.
Maria was born and raised in Barreira de Agua in Sao Mamede, Portugal. There she met and married her husband, Adelino, on September 29, 1963. Together they came to the U.S. to start their life in Long Branch, NJ. They later moved to Elizabeth, NJ to raise their two children, Suzanne and Edward. In 1994, they retired to Toms River, NJ enjoying time with their loving grandchildren: Matthew, Christopher, Caroline, Zachary, Branden, Kaitlyn and Jaclyn.
Maria was a devout Christian who cherished her family and enjoyed having them around the kitchen table while she lovingly cooked her one-of-a-kind meals and treats.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Adelino Santos; her loving children Suzanne Damiani and her husband Aldo; Edward Santos and his wife Ana as well as her precious grandchildren Matthew, Christopher, and Caroline Damiani and, Zachary, Branden, Kaitlyn and Jaclyn Santos. She is also survived by her dear siblings Gracinda DaSilva, Antonio Silvestre and Rosalina Gonzalez along with their families.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm at the Carmona Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main St., Toms River, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:30am at St Justin the Martyr RC Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, NJ. Committal will be celebrated privately. Maria will return to her birthplace for burial in Portugal.
