John C. Czarnik, 80, of South Toms River, NJ, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025. John was born on November 14, 1944 in Palmetto, Florida to his parents Ben Cashmere and Jama (nee: Lafae Taylor) Czarnik. John honorably served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. John retired as a welder from Skanska. He enjoyed fishing in Forked River, Seaside and Island Beach State Park, he was affectionately known as "John the Fisherman", He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9503 in Bayville, NJ. John also enjoyed playing horseshoes. John is preceded in death by his parents Ben and Jama Czarnik, his son Ben Czarnik and his sister Connie Girl Surviving John is his wife of 57 years, Maria (nee: Macaluso) Czarnik his daughter Katherine Czarnik, his granddaughter Corinne, his two great grandchildren Sincere and Nevaeh, as well as his brothers Walter Czarnik and his wife Linda and Michael Czarnik and his wife Gail, as well as his best friend Teddy. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, October 21, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the Carmona-Bolen Home for Funerals, 412 Main Street, Toms River, NJ. A service will take place at the Cemetery, Burial will take place on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at 12:30pm at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River, NJ 08753.
