Joan Dragos Obituary
Joan Marie Dragos, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday,
December 21, 2023 at her home. She was born in Warren, Ohio on October
14, 1957 the daughter of Eugene Paul and Helen (Kurutz) Dragos.
She was a 1976 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and attended
Youngstown State University. She retired from the United States Postal
Service in the Mahoning County area following 37 years of faithful service.
Joan currently was a teller at Key Bank Poland Office. For many years, Joan
was well known as a cookie baker and decorator. She enjoyed spending time
with her brother and sister and their family and especially her furry cat
family.
Joan is survived by a brother, Paul (Sandra) Dragos of Niles; sister, Patty
(Mark) McElravy of Niles; nephews, Erik (Dawn Marie) Dragos of Niles,
Patrick McElravy of Niles; niece, Amber (Matthew) Sedoris of Mineral Ridge;
four great-nephews, Vincent and John Dragos, Gavin and Gage Sedoris; one
great-niece, Greenleigh Sedoris; her six loving cats Eddie, Matilda, Abby,
Reggie, Opal and Oswald. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Calling Hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at
the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home 126 West Park Avenue, Niles. Mass of
Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St.
Stephen Church, 129 West Park Avenue, Niles, preceded by a 9:40 a.m.
prayer service at the funeral home. Rev. Steven Agostino as celebrant. Burial
will be in Niles City Cemetery.
