Joan Stevens Eaton

Mrs. Joan Stevens Eaton, 92, of Morganton, made a peaceful passing and joined her husband Bill and son David in God's hands, on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. Joan was born December 24, 1924, in Monroe County, NY, to the late Percy H. Stevens and Mary Ferguson Stevens. She was a tower of love with her focus always on family. Her love for children shown through her preschool teaching for forty-five years. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William M. Eaton; son, David Eaton; sisters, Nancy Relyea and Barbara Robeson. She is survived by her daughter Sally Harrill; daughter-in-law, Judy Eaton; grandchildren, Sharon Milan and husband Brent, Cathy Bowling and husband Shane, Mark Harrill and wife Jennifer, and Kenneth Harrill and wife K.C.; great-grandchildren, Payton Milan, David Milan, Gracie Milan, Wesley Bowling, Nathan Bowling, Cassidy Harrill, Brynnley Harrill, Cole Harrill, and Lilly Harrill. A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family. Joan was very proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will carry on her legacy of love.
