Joan Eshler Obituary
Joan was born November 12, 1927 in Marion, IN to the late John and Lucille (Atkinson) Taylor.
Joan lived a great life where she valued her relationship with God, provided support and kindness to the people around her, and remaining physically active until her last days. As the preacher's wife, the church was her second home where she could shepherd those in need, lead groups in Bible study and prayer, and sing in the choir. She enjoyed volunteering with many community support groups, participating in mission trips, and donating to organizations that she had a passion for.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Vicki) Eshler, William (Pam) Eshler, Kenneth (Jennifer) Eshler; son-in-law, Edward Mayer; grandchildren, Kimberly (Corbin) Elliot, John (Jessica) Mayer, Kristyn (Doug) Jennings, Jaryd Eshler, Danette Muntean, Jill (Bob) McCormick, Kelsie Rae Eshler, Brian Eshler, Emma Eshler, and Isebella Eshler; sister, Mary Kathryn McSoley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Dr. Richard Eshler; daughter, Peggy Mayer; son, Bruce Eshler; grandson, Matthew Eshler; granddaughter, Angela Eshler; brother, John Taylor.
Calling hours will be held 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 W. Main St. Kent, OH 44240 and 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Friday, July 14, 2023 at Kent United Church of Christ, 1400 E. Main St. Kent, OH 44240, followed by Memorial Services at 11:00 AM with Rev. Amy Gopp officiating. In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
