Joan M. Ferrara

Mrs. Joan M (Mullen) Ferrara born on June 6, 1949, left this world peacefully on July 1st 2023, surrounded by her loving family.
Joan was born in Boston and lived most of her life in South Boston before moving to Weymouth MA
Joan was a retired nurse who held different positions throughout the years, retiring from her career at Boston Medical Center primary care. Joan loved being a nurse and it was profession she was extremely proud of, having her daughter and granddaughter follow in her footsteps. Joan loved to travel and looked forward to her trip to Aruba every year.
She had many close friends who she enjoyed spending time with as well as playing cards and her trips to the casinos
Joan leaves behind her husband of 54 years, her best friend and the love of her life, Robert K Ferrara retired BFD from Weymouth.
Loving mother of Richard Ferrara from Weymouth her daughter Renee and "favorite son in law" Scott Bothwell from Quincy and three grandchildren who were the light of her life and whom she was extremely proud of Michael Ferrara, Patrick and Emma Bothwell. Sister in law of Fred Ferrara retired BPD and his wife Alexis of South Boston and many nieces nephews cousins family and friends.
Joan was the daughter of the late Richard and Margret Mullen and sister of the late Robert Mullen
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).
Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM in the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
