Michael G. Drake, 77 of South Weymouth passed away at South Shore Hospital after a long struggle with health issues.
Michael was born on June 26, 1948 in Roslindale to Alfred and Mary Drake. He grew up in Roslindale with many family members and friends.
Michael is predeceased by his wife, best friend and soulmate of 48 years, Mary M. (McCarthy) Drake, his brother Paul Drake, nephew Matthew Drake, brother in-law Jack Barczak and sister in-law Barbara MacDonald.
Michael enjoyed being with friends and family while having a laugh and telling one of his many stories. He enjoyed time spent in Wells, ME and on Cape Cod by the water fishing. In his younger years he enjoyed traveling with Mary.
Michael is survived by his siblings Susan Barczak, Kim Gallagher and her husband David, Peter Drake and his partner Monica McLoughlin, and sister in-law Deborah Drake, brothers in-law Richard MacDonald, and John McCarthy and his wife Janice. He also leaves many loving nieces and nephews; Kelly Hamel and her husband Marc, Dana Donovan and her husband Kevin, Leann Gallagher and her partner Justin Kady, Katie Drake, Ashley Drake, Andrew Drake, Patrick Drake, Kara Saluk and her husband Brendan, Colin MacDonald, Krista MacDonald, Courtney McCarthy, Morgan McCarthy, and 15 great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 11/13/2025 from 9-11AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital) followed by a service at 11AM in the funeral home. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
Donations in memory of Michael may be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice (Croí Health), 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.
