Joan P. Fisher, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025 surrounded by her family in Medford, NJ. Born on November 22, 1938, in Philadelphia, PA, Joan was 86 years old. She grew up in the Colwick section of Cherry Hill and was a proud graduate of Merchantville High School, where she excelled in sports. She earned an impressive 12 varsity letters in field hockey, lacrosse, basketball, and softball, setting the stage for a lifetime of athletic pursuits. Even into her 60s, Joan continued to showcase her athletic prowess, playing women's softball and achieving the status of a Pro Bowler. Her love for sports was only matched by her commitment to her faith. She was an active member at Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford, where she spent her spare time working at Camp Fellowship. Whether it was painting, staining the buildings or selling candy in the snack bar she enjoyed working with her hands and working with the children. She was grateful to be able to attend the camp closing ceremony held last week. Joan's family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her loving children, Doug Fisher and his wife, Lynda, Duane Fisher and his wife, Sue, and Dianne Yoncak and her husband, Scott. Her sister, Cheryl De Luca, and her husband, Vincent, will miss her dearly. Her grandchildren gave her immense joy and pride as she watched them grow and mature in their endeavors. She is the devoted grandmother of Ryan Fisher and his wife Carey, Kyle Fisher, Colin Fisher and his wife, Elise, Justin Fisher and his fiancee, Alanna LaBrutto, Tyler Fisher and his wife, Ariel, Trey Fisher and his wife, Lexi, Jessie and her husband, Jake Walker, Jayme and her husband, Ethan Edwards, Brett Yoncak, Braeden Yoncak, and Hannah and her husband Joey Cavicchia. Joan's legacy continues to thrive through her great-grandchildren: Jesse, Colette, and Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her brothers, the late Wayne Phillips and the late Bill Phillips. Joan leaves behind a family that will forever cherish her memory. Joan's impact on her family, friends, and community was profound, and her spirit of giving and compassion will live on in the countless lives she touched. Please gather with the Fisher family as they celebrate a life lived to the fullest, a life of purpose, and a life that was a true testament to the power of love and faith. You are invited to her visitation on Saturday September 6 from 11-12 at Fellowship Alliance Chapel 199 Church Road Medford where a Funeral Service will be held at 12 noon. A private interment will follow.
