Joan Elizabeth Gall, 78, of Zionsville, Indiana, passed away on January 18, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1947, in Fargo, North Dakota to Dennis and Grace Kaldor. Joan was a 1969 graduate of Morehead State University and worked as an elementary teacher with an emphasis on art appreciation. She married the love of her life, David Gall, on June 21, 1969. Joan and Dave had three sons: Peter, Matthew, and Andrew. Known for her gentle encouraging nature and dedication to her faith, family and friends, Joan was a long-time member of Zionsville Presbyterian Church, the Zionsville Great Banquet community, served with MoPS and PEO, established and for years helped develop the church library, spent 30 years serving church planting and orphan care ministries in Romania, poured herself into the lives of her grandchildren, met with the same groups of friends every week for decades, and loved annual vacations in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She is survived and sorely missed by her husband David, children Peter (Christine), Matthew (Christine), Andrew (Sharon), grandchildren Sam, Alex, Elise, Chloe, Drew, Mira, Max, and Henry, and her brother Dennis (Patty). Joan was preceded in death and eagerly awaited by her parents and a vast cloud of witnesses.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Monday, February 2, 2026, from 11am to 1pm at Zionsville Presbyterian Church, 4775 W 116th St. Zionsville, IN 46077. A memorial service will be held at 1pm following the visitation, also at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to Missio International, P.O. Box 10967, Knoxville, TN 37939, or online at missiointernational.org/donate.

Her arrangements were entrusted to Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care, Zionsville Chapel.

Joan was always kind & open to all who knew her.
She was on Great Banquet team #13 when I went through. She always made a difference in her quiet way.
We will miss her presence @ ZPC but celebrate her home coming.
