Ruth Lynette Haby

Ruth Lynette Haby, 67, passed away surrounded by family on February 21, 2026.

Ruth was born on January 21, 1959, in Marengo, Iowa, to Orlen and Lora Imhoff. She was raised in Williamsburg, Iowa, where she formed the values of kindness, faith, and devotion to family that guided her throughout her life. She attended the University of Iowa, earning a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Ruth dedicated her career to caring for others, serving her patients with patience and gentleness for which she was well known.

Ruth found great joy in creating beauty and comfort for those she loved. She was an avid vegetable gardener and a proud University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener, delighting in nurturing plants from seed to harvest. She also loved baking - especially her famous cookies, which were treasured by family and friends - as well as crafting and sewing.

Above all, Ruth was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her daughters, Lauren Miller and Michelle (Kyle) Newton; her beloved grandchildren, Natalie and Russell Miller and Nora and Emelia Newton; and her sister, Cindy (Steve) DeBerg. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlen and Lora Imhoff; her sisters, Jane Imhoff and Judy Gjerde; and her brother, Mark Imhoff.

Ruth will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her steadfast love for her family, and the countless quiet ways she cared for others. Her legacy lives on in the lives she nurtured.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care 125 W. Sycamore St., Zionsville, Indiana, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m.
