Joan Claire Gnaski, passed away on December 15, 2024, at the age of 90 in McHenry, IL, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimers. Born on September 7, 1934, in Green Bay, WI, Joan was devoted to her family, enjoyed sewing in her younger years and doll collecting in her later life, working in her yard, and had unwavering support for her beloved Green Bay Packers.
Joan's story began as the cherished daughter of Gene and Ursula Jonet. She had four siblings, Richard, Tom, Gene and Mary, who all preceded her in death. She was the loving wife of the late Albert Gnaski, with whom she shared a lifetime of memories until his passing in 2011. Together they created a family, and Joan is survived by her adoring children: Sherry (Dale) Breakiron, Michelle (Joe) Prindle, Larry (Karen) Gnaski, Renee Kiesgen, and Adrian (Dan) Cortese. Her legacy continues through her 7 grandchildren: Ryan, Danny and Michael Prindle, Brandie and Brent Breakiron, Derek Boone and Brandon Paul. She also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren.
A true Wisconsinite, Joan's heartbeat in green and gold. She took great pride in her connection to the Green Bay Packers, a team her grandfather served as the original Treasurer and whose legacy he helped cement as an inductee into the Packers Hall of Fame.
As we bid farewell to Joan, we remember a sweet, gentle but strong woman who will be deeply missed by her family, but will live forever in their hearts and memories.
