Joan E. Grabowski

Joan E. (Kokocinski) Grabowski, 97, longtime Auburn resident, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Life Care Center of Auburn.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank Grabowski, in 2007, and their son, Gary Grabowski, in 2016. Joan leaves her devoted son, Wayne F. Grabowski, of North Grosvenordale, CT; her loving grandchildren, Michelle Adames, Tanya Grabowski, and Eric Grabowski; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Briggs, and Crew Grabowski, Daxon and Lennon Cadarette; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley and Paul Kokocinski.
Joan was born, raised, and educated in Webster, daughter of the late Joseph and Annie (Scheffler) Kokocinski. She graduated from Bartlett High School, and soon met the love of her life, Frank Grabowski. They settled in Auburn to begin their life together and start their family.
Joan was a wonderful homemaker, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved cooking and baking, especially her signature Polish dishes. In her free time, Joan enjoyed knitting sweaters and rugs for family and friends.
Joan's family will be celebrating her life with a graveside service in the Spring; details will be forthcoming, and will be announced in the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
