Trujillo Family Funeral HomeJoan Marie Grisham Walker was born July 9, 1931, in Baguio, Philippines, and passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 in Albuquerque at the age of ninety-four. She was cared for and survived by her loving family.
Joan's life work was raising her four children. She enjoyed her time with her bowling league and with their skills earned many patches, trophies, and made it to a national championship. Joan also enjoyed work and travel for a marketing research company that she reminisced about later in life.
Joan was an aficionado of fiber crafts. The many textiles that she lovingly crocheted or knitted are cherished heirlooms. Her master knitting skills were also shared with her community through local senior centers and Project Linus. In her later life, Joan was at her happiest with a cup of coffee, crossword puzzle, and her backyard birds.
Joan resided at Montebello Assisted Living in Albuquerque, NM for the last few years. She regularly recounted her earlier years raising her family, travels to Guatemala, and residing in Amarillo with her daughter Loretta and her family.
Joan is remembered as a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Her entertaining demeanor and lively spirit were uplifting. She was quick-witted and loved telling jokes.
Preceding Joan in death are her parents, Glen and Olga Grisham and her brother, Gary Grisham.
She is survived by her four children, Dugan MacDonald (Betty Jo); Christine MacDonald Pritchard (Larry Johnson); Tim MacDonald; Loretta MacDonald Williams (David), grandchildren, Micael Dawley, Ian MacDonald (Sally); Megan Pritchard, Anwyn Roybal (Marcos) and their daughter Aurelia; Sydney Williams, Kelcey Williams (Will Lee).
Her burial and service will be at the Sunset Memorial Park on September 13th at 10:00 am.
