Joan M. Hakun
Joan M. Hakun, 84, of Allentown, passed away on November 9, 2025 at Luther Crest Healthcare Center, South Whitehall Twp. She was the loving wife of George Hakun III. They were married for 63 years. Joan was a homemaker and early on she was a Registered Nurse. She was a graduate of Reading High School, the Reading Hospital School of Nursing and Kutztown University. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Helen (Grota) Miseravage. She was a member and former Lector at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown. Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed traveling, reading books and listening to classical music. She was a former member of the Allentown Garden Club.
Survivors: Husband, Son, Mark G. Hakun (Maurann) of Gambrills, MD, and Grandchildren: Monica Burnett (Jeff) of Layton, UT and Marcella Hakun of Gambrills, MD and a Great-Granddaughter: Emma Burnett.
She was also preceded in death by Son, Andrew G. Hakun, and is survived by Daughter-In-Law: Cathy Hakun of Woodbine, MD and Grandchildren Steven and Patrick Hakun of Woodbine, MD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11 A.M. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church 1040 Flexer Ave. Allentown, PA 18103. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. in the Church. Arrangements by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
