Joan M. Harms, age 85, of Chillicothe, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Arc of Chillicothe.
Joan was born on October 3, 1939 in Princeville, IL to Samuel Bert and Irma Pearl (Cutler) Hyde. She married Edward E. Harms on March 11, 1958 in Princeville. Edward preceded her in death on December 30, 2016. Also preceding her in death are her parents; her four brothers; her son, Ronald Harms; and her son-in-law, Gregory Ford.
Surviving are her daughters, Cheri Ford of Chillicothe, Lori (Jeff) Griffin of Chillicothe and Kristen (Robert) Tortat of Chillicothe; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Harms of Chillicothe; her grandchildren, Amber (Charlie) Rusk, Gregory Harms, Kelsey (David) Ford, Caitlin (Stephanie) Griffin, Jacob (Kimmy) Griffin, Gabi (Bradley) Scott, Leo Tortat and Vivian Tortat; and eight great-grandchildren.
Joan was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she loved spending time with her family.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 11am at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation beginning at 10am. Rev. Ron Martz will officiate. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Cemetery. Memorials in Joan's name may be made to the Community Needs Agency or the Weekend SnackPac through the Chillicothe First United Methodist Church.
