Joan Hearns Bowden Obituary

Joan was born on September 30, 1934, to Leonard Hearns and Greta Crowther Hearns in Runcorn, England. She moved to the United States after she married Donald L. Bowden in in October 1955.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald L. Bowden and her son in law, Adrian Mitu. She is survived by her children Paul Bowden (Maureen Hardy) of Berlin, Massachusetts and Barbara Bowden Mitu of Cary, NC, grandchildren Alexander Benjamin Mitu and Carmen Nicole Mitu of Cary, NC her brother Tony Hearns (Brenda)of England, sister Margaret Sage (John) of Sandiway, England, brother John Hearns of England and many nieces and nephews.
Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She spent many happy hours walking on the beach collecting shells, fishing, spending time with her golden retrievers, basset hounds and traveling. She was a woman of many talents. She was an accomplished ballroom dancer, piano player, swimmer and gardener.
