Joan Hemenway

Joan Hemenway, 91, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at Oak Park Place, Janesville, WI.She was born on January 18, 1934 in Kendall, WI, the daughter of Jacob and Pearl (Larson) Johnson. She married John Hemenway on December 29, 1953 in Fountain Lutheran Church, Hustler, WI. He predeceased her on July 6, 2012.Joan was a proud homemaker for her family. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and the Leah Circle. Joan was on numerous bowling leagues. She could often be found baking or watching the Game Show Network. Joan loved spending time with her family; especially if it was traveling and camping. Most of all, she cherished her grandchildren and doing anything with them! Survivors include her daughters, Pam Montgomery, Tammy Dorr, and Judy (Greg Hronik) Taber; eight grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two brothers, James Johnson and Larry Johnson. Joan was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Robert and Edward Johnson; sisters, Helen Ward and Carol Leopold; grandson, Troy Jonathan Ray; and great-granddaughter, Anneliese Saitta.A Funeral Service for Joan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 749 Bluff St., Beloit, WI, with Jean Lincoln officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery. Visitation of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Friday in the church.
