With sadness, we announce the passing of Joan L. Hoch, who departed this life on October 3, 2024, at the Laureldale Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Laureldale, PA. Born on December 7, 1941, in Evansville, PA, Joan lived a life rich in love, family, and community.
Joan, a self-educated and determined woman, married Lawrence M. Hoch on October 3, 1959. Together, they built a loving family and shared many cherished memories until Lawrence's passing.
Joan dedicated 25 years of service to Penn Dutch Cookie and later contributed her skills to Fleetwood Snacks, Inc. She was an active member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Fleetwood. She participated in the 1973 Fleetwood Centennial Guzzlers Gals.
Joan deeply loved music, especially the works of Elvis, Queen, and Rod Stewart. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and was talented with knitting, crocheting, and making ceramics. Her favorite pastime was bingo.
Joan is survived by her children: daughter Christine J. Snyder, wife of late Randy Snyder; and sons Henry L. Hoch, Harold L. Hoch, husband of Robin L. Hoch; and William L. Hoch. She also leaves behind her older brothers, Richard Folk and Donald Folk.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Tiffaney, Stephanie, Crystal, Victor, and Jessie. There are also nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; her parents, John and Lucy (Moore) Folk; and her brother, Wilber Folk.
