Joan Suzanne Huse (Hrabcsak), 91, of Danbury, passed away on April, 4th at Maplewood of Danbury with her daughter by her side.
Born on May 25th, 1933, in Cecil Township, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Michael E. and Margaret Mae Hrabcsak (Cashimere). At the age of 5, her family moved to Danbury, CT, where she was then a life long resident and attended Danbury High School, graduating with the class of 1952.
After high school, Joan worked as a secretary/office manager in the Social Services Department of Fairfield Hills Hospital, Newtown, CT. Joan was a dedicated mother and homemaker raising her two daughters, until returning to work as a corporate executive secretary for Graphic Sciences/Burroughs Corp., and then Fujitsu Imaging Systems of America, Danbury, CT. She concluded her work career as a loving child care provider in the nursery at KinderCare in her King Street neighborhood, a job she adored doing and was well recognized for her dedicated and compassionate care of the children.
For many years, Joan was an active member of the King Street Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and writing poetry.
Joan was the beloved mother to and is survived by daughters Suzanne Huse Bley, and Cathleen Huse Burns and her husband Christopher. She was 'grandma' to Sandra Judd and her husband John, Jaclyn Esteves and her husband Devon, Christopher R. Burns, and Austin M. Burns and his wife Kelly. She was 'great-grandma' to Jessica, Jackson, and Winslow Judd. She is survived by her brother, Michael G. Hrabcsak and his wife Margaret, and sister Deborah Feli-Fitzgerald and her husband Dan, her cousin 'sister' Sandra Rogers and her husband Edward. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews, of whom she was very fond. Joan is survived by LeRoy Cordes, her loving companion of 50 years. She was predeceased by her former husband Richard L. Huse.
Joan will be deeply missed and forever remain in our hearts.
