Canton - Joan Juanita Morris Jones, 50, peacefully passed away at her residence on Friday, February 2, 2024. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend whose warm presence brought joy to everyone she encountered.
Born in Henderson County, North Carolina, Joan had lived in Haywood County for most of her life. A dedicated and compassionate individual, she pursued a career as a certified nurse's assistant and later as a resident care manager. Through her work, Joan touched the lives of countless individuals with her kind heart and unwavering commitment to providing excellent care.
Joan Jones was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Susie Ball Morris, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Their memories live on within the hearts of those who loved Joan dearly. In addition to her professional achievements, Joan was a member of Welcome Home Ministries. Her faith served as a guiding light in her life and she found strength and solace in the community of fellow believers.
Joan's passing is deeply mourned by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Brad Jones. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love and cherished memories. Their bond was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Joan is also survived by her three daughters: Darian Green (Zachary) and Montana Jones of Canton, as well as Savanah Jones Pressley (Cheyenne) of Maggie Valley. As a mother, Joan poured boundless love into the lives of her children and was their unwavering source of support and encouragement.
Her sister Carmen Morris from Snellville, Georgia, and brother Mark Morris from Black Mountain were cherished siblings who shared a deep connection with Joan throughout their lives. Their memories together hold immense value and will forever be treasured.
Joan's legacy continues through the lives of her twelve grandchildren: Lashae, Gabriel, Sammy, Bradlee, Jayce, Kyler, Kodah, Merritt, Carter, Cooper, Peyton, and Klayton. Her grandchildren brought immeasurable joy to her life and created countless cherished moments that will be cherished by her family for generations to come.
To honor and celebrate Joan's life, funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2024, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Joan Jones will be remembered not only for her dedication to caregiving but also for her unconditional love for her family and friends. Her legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. She leaves behind an indelible imprint on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
