Joan Alberta King

Joan King, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 7, 2026. Born on May 20, 1932, she lived a long and meaningful life filled with love for her family, enjoyment of simple pleasures, and lasting friendships.

She was the devoted wife of the late Carlton Lawrence King, who passed away in 1994. Together they raised three children: Linda King, wife of John Andreozzi; the late Lawrence King; and Jeffrey King, husband of Michelle King.

Joan spent more than 30 years working at General Electric. She found great joy in playing bingo, card games, and spending time with her family and friends. More than anything, she treasured time with her grandchildren, whom she adored deeply and of whom she was immensely proud. She lived most of her life in Warwick, Rhode Island, and spent her final two decades in Hope Valley, Rhode Island.

She leaves behind three beloved grandchildren: her step-grandson, John Theroux, and her grandsons, Tyler Jeffrey King and Ryan Thomas King.

Funeral services will be held at Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, March 25, at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joan King's memory to the American Heart Association.
