Kiya Marie Lanphear

Kiya Lanphear, 56, of Ashaway, RI passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026 at Westerly Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Douglas A. Lanphear. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT, she was the daughter of Howard and the late Joyce (Barrows) Hatch.

Kiya worked at Westerly Walmart for 15 years as a front-end cashier. She brought an energetic and contagious personality to work with her every day, where co-workers and customers alike would engage in conversation with her. She loved to listen to music in her spare time and enjoyed watching her favorite reruns of older tv show hits to relax. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Besides her husband, she leaves behind her three sons; Dalton and Dustin Lanphear of Ashaway, RI and Dylan (Shanlee) Lanphear of Bradford, RI. She also leaves behind her father, Howard Hatch, her siblings; Larry Hatch, Pamala Canfield, Shari Nelson, Tamika Wallek and Vicki Hatch as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Joyce (Barrows) Hatch and her sisters Rhonda Hatch and Sonja White.

Calling hours for family and friends will be Monday, March 23, 2026 from 4pm to 7pm at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.

Burial Service will be Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at Pine Grove Cemetery at 10am.
