Joan Kovar, passed away on May 17, 2025, in Katy, Texas, at the age of 79. She was born on August 30, 1945, in Houston, Texas.
A graduate of Westbury High School, Joan entered the workforce working in a bank, where she was known for her reliability and warm demeanor. Her professional life was complemented by her rich personal interests, including a profound love for animals, which she affectionately referred to as her "babies." Joan's passion extended to her fondness for chocolate, which brought her joy and comfort throughout her life, even til the very end.
Joan lived some years in Kosse, Texas and made wonderful friends and memories there.
She is survived by 2 grandsons Ely Poutous and Jake Poutous, and 2 granddaughters Reagan Moore and Sydney Moore.
She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Paul Thom; her mother, Joyce Jean Thom; and her two daughters, Teresa Marie Poutous and Jeanette Kathleen Moore.
Joan will be laid to rest at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
The family would like to thank Sarah and the caregivers at Regis Care Home in Katy for providing excellent care this past year. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your favorite pet rescue or shelter in honor of Joan.
Family asks that everyone attending the service wear bright colors for Joan.
