My first
Memory of Joan goes back to 1991 as she and I participated in a movement within the Church sponsored by our St Joseph Parish that involved one week of talks and discussion groups designed to increase our relationship with Christ. It was at that point, we became friends, with a common bond, love for the Holy Mass, the Sacraments, and a deeper love for Jesus Christ & His Mother. I have valued her friendship and will pray that her soul is resting now with her first Love, Jesus.

Yes, Joan was always vibrant and warm with a good stroy to tell that would leave us all laughing. Though miles separated us, we kept in touch. Ted and I almost became neighbors, but decided instead to stay in New Jersey at Cedar Crest. Ted left eleven years ago. Molly, my daughter is now here at Cedar Crest with her husband, Bill. Our prayers are with the wonderful family Joan and Bob created.

Rich and I consider ourselves most fortunate to have been next door neighbors to Joan. Ten years ago, Joan warmly welcomed us into the neighborhood by hosting a lovely community gathering at her home. Our friendship flourished much like the flowers in our gardens. Pleasant conversations on her front porch, strolls around the community, recipe sharing and SO MUCH MORE, were all special times together that we will always treasure! Joan's warm, generous and fun-loving spirit will always remain with those those of us who were MORE than fortunate to have known her. ~Gwen and Rich Mochak
