Joan B. MacDonald

Joan Barbara MacDonald, of Marshfield, peacefully passed away on May 11, 2024.
Joan was born in Dorchester MA and grew up in Dedham. She graduated from Dedham High School. She loved being a secretary. She retired from Boston Edison in 2003.
Joan loved Life. She loved to travel, dance, and play board games. She had an infectious smile and sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew her. She loved everyone unconditionally.
She is predeceased by her parents, Walter Gerard LaRonde and Mary Fitzmaurice LaRonde, Her younger brother Rick LaRonde, and her ex-husband John Edward MacDonald of Marshfield.
She is survived by her siblings, Walter LaRonde of CA, Lawrence LaRonde of NC, Rob LaRonde of MD, Mary LaRonde of Plymouth MA, Tim LaRonde of MD. She had three children, Sean MacDonald and his wife Toni, Patrick MacDonald and Jeanne Fournier all of Marshfield. She had 6 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visiting hours will be held at MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean Street in Marshfield, on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday May 24, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann by the Sea Parish Church, 591 Ocean Street in Marshfield. Burial to follow in the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
