Joan Martin Obituary
Joan Gourley Martin, of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 11, 2024, at the age of 87. Ms. Martin was born in Dyer, Tennessee, on December 8, 1936, to the late Tom and Eva Marcella Spain Gourley.
Ms. Martin is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a daughter, Eva Lesa Martin Edwards; grandson, Joseph Myles Childers; and three brothers.
Those surviving Joan includes her children, Sam Martin, Cissy Estes, Selena Childers; siblings, Burney Gourley (Barbara), and Jeanette Lacey (Lloyd); as well as a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ms. Martin will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Brooklyn Church, with Jasson Thomas officiating. Friends are invited to visit with the family, at the church, from 12:00 p.m. until services begin. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with friends and relatives of Ms. Joan serving as pallbearers, and Myles Childers, Mason Martin, and Liam Stone serving as honorary pallbearers.
