Joan E. Mellace

Joan E. (Schureman) Mellace, age 87, of Springfield, PA, formerly of Delaware, died Monday, April 29, 2024. Joan was born February 27, 1937, in Chester, PA. Joan was the owner/operator of the Parkside Florist.
Joan was compassionate about rescuing animals. She was called "every animal's angel" in an article written in the Daily Times about her devotion to all animals.
Joan enjoyed Lewes, Delaware, where she rode her bike along the shore and through trails. Joan liked taking walks. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
Daughter of the late George W. and Dorothy Mosher Schureman; Sister of the late Dorothy Elliott and Maryann Smith; Aunt of the late John Elliott.

Sisters: Peanut Mellace, Gay Profitt, Barbara Jean Capman
Also survived by a devoted niece, Doreen Dworkin and many other nieces and nephews
Visitation: Wednesday, May 8th after 10:00AM at the Minshall Shropshire-Bleyler Funeral Home, Middletown (Rte. #352) & Knowlton Rds., Middletown Twp., Media, PA 19063.
Funeral Service: Wednesday, May 8th at 11:00AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
