Peoria- Joan Rose Oslick, 91, of Peoria, passed away at 4:25 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Lutheran Hillside Village Care Center in Peoria. She was born on April 26, 1933 in Chicago, a daughter of Joe and Rose (Yurachek) Piskulski. She married Albin Oslick on February 14, 1953 in Chicago. He preceded her in death on February 2, 2018.
Surviving Joan include daughter, Karen (Randy) Skender of Canton; Brian Oslick of Waukesha, Wisconsin. She is also survived by grandson, Ryan (Adrienne) Skender of Eureka, and four great-grandchildren.
Joan lived the majority of her life, in Chicago. She and Albin moved from the city to Elmhurst, Illinois in 1962, where she worked for Jewel Food Stores. Upon retiring in 1996, they relocated to Georgetown, Texas. In 2016, they moved to Peoria to be closer to family.
Joan was a kind and caring person, who always had a smile to offer. She will be greatly missed by her family.
The family expresses its thanks and gratitude to the staff of Lutheran Hillside Village and Compassus hospice staff for their compassion and care given to Joan.
Per Joan's request, there will be no services, cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory. Burial of ashes will take place in Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
