Joan Plumlee, 93, Springfield, passed away Monday, October 6, 2025 in the Arbors at Ravenwood.

She was born October 12, 1931 in Dry Fork, Arkansas, the daughter of Jesse Burton Sugg and Dollie Belle Maxwell.

Joan loved her kids and she loved to read her bible. She was busy taking her kids to baseball, softball and basketball games. Family was important to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Winford Plumlee, siblings, Sue Lea and John Sugg, son-in-law, Steve Smith and daughter-in-law, Mary Plumlee and great-grandson, Austin Plumlee.

Joan is survived by daughter, Suzy Smith, Bruner, MO; three sons, Michael Plumlee, Springfield. Timothy (Peggy) Plumlee, Springfield and David (Theresa) Plumlee, Ozark; grandchildren, Leanne (Wes) Plumlee Pollard, Michael Plumlee, Jennifer Smith, Christina (Matt) Thomas, Stephanie Smith, Nathan Plumlee, Mathew Plumlee, Hannah Plumlee and Kyle (Bralin) Plumlee; four great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 10, 2025 in Eastlawn Cemetery, under the care of Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home.
