Joan Carol Poling, a cherished wife, devoted mother, and loving grandmother passed away November 1, 2024. Joan was born on August 24, 1941, in Sturgis, Michigan, and her life's journey was filled with love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and passions.
Throughout her career as an executive secretary for various businesses, Joan's professionalism and commitment were unmatched, leaving a lasting impact on all those she encountered. Her move to Centerville in 2000, marked the start of a new chapter, where she found joy and fulfillment in each passing day alongside her loving husband, Wes.
Joan's love for her family was boundless. She cherished every moment spent with them and created countless cherished memories that will forever be treasured. Alongside Wes, Joan embarked on numerous adventures, traveling the United States and immersing themselves in new experiences.
In her personal time, Joan found solace in the simple joys of life. Her passion for cooking, gardening, and the great outdoors reflected her vibrant spirit and deep appreciation for nature's beauty. Joan's affection for animals, especially her horses, cats, and dogs, showed her nurturing and caring nature that extended beyond human relationships.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jean Browne; and daughter, Kirstein Speed. She leaves behind beloved husband, Wesley "Wes" Poling of Buffalo; son, David (Janet) Laird, Jr. of Greenville; daughter, Kimberly Allwell of Centerville; brother, Craig (Sherry) of Seabring, Florida; sister, Debbie Herrick of Mazon, Illinois; grandchildren, Erin, Christian, and Emma; and three great-grandchildren, as well as a host of extended family and close friends.
As we mourn the loss of this exceptional woman, we find solace in the memories she leaves behind. A celebration of Joan Poling's life will be held 2 P.M., Friday, November 8, 2024 at Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas to honor her legacy and commemorate the impact she had on all who knew her. A brief visitation will take place prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. Joan will be laid to rest in Centerville Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Wayne Burleson will officiate the service.
May Joan's memory live on in our hearts, and may her spirit guide us through this time of mourning. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will endure for generations to come.
