Joan Jean Raymond, a beacon of love and creativity, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on February 22, 1945, Joan's life was a tapestry of courage, care, and boundless energy that touched the hearts of everyone she knew. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness, embodied by her loving family and the countless lives she inspired.

Joan was the cherished mother of three sons: Gary, Joel, and Matthew Raymond. She reveled in the joys of motherhood and later, she was a grandmother to Jesse, Zachary, and Levi, and a great-grandmother to Rhyatt. Her siblings, Helen Ide, Maynard Wildey, Dan Wildey, and Mary Pepin, will hold dear the memories of their sister whose life was a testament to familial devotion. Joan was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Lilly Wildey, her first husband Gary Raymond, and her brothers Art, Jim, Larry, and Gary, with whom she is now reunited.

Joan's interests were a reflection of her nurturing spirit. An avid gardener, she found solace and joy in the beauty of nature, tending to her plants with the same care she gave to her relationships. Her sewing was not just a hobby but a means of expressing her creativity and love, often gifting her family and friends with handmade treasures. An avid reader, Joan's thirst for knowledge and her love for stories were as deep-rooted as the plants in her garden.

Her commitment to volunteer work was an extension of her generous heart. Joan dedicated countless hours to various causes, always eager to lend a hand or a listening ear. Her efforts made a tangible difference in her community, and her absence will be felt by many.

Joan's life was one of courage; she faced challenges with a strength that inspired those around her. Her loving nature was the cornerstone of her existence, guiding her actions and leaving an indelible mark on the world. Creative in every aspect of her life, from her beautiful garden to her sewing projects, Joan's ingenuity brought beauty and joy to the everyday.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial visitation will take place 12:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville.
