I knew Joan as a teacher to two of my children and later on as a friend. She was a warm, caring, creative and energetic teacher. One of my children, upon learning of her passing said, "Mrs. Sheehan was a great teacher and a great person." After Tom had passed, a few casual conversations in the grocery store developed into a friendship. We shared some meals together and one year even drove to Tanglewood Music Center in Western Massachusetts to hear Yo Yo Ma perform. Joan was always up for an adventure. I will miss her laugh. She spoke proudly of Matthew often. My condolences to Matthew and all her family.

Saddened to hear about Joan´s passing. Joan was a transition (readiness)teacher to two of our children in Plymouth.
. Then, I taught with Joan for many years at Plymouth Elementary School...Lots of fond memories! My sincere condolences Matthew.

She was a special person who generally loved life and shared with others. My high-school friend.

I'm sorry to hear this. Your mother was really sweet to me when I was a little girl. I had enjoyed visiting her occasionally before she went to Keene and spoke to her on the phone when she first went there but after a bit I couldn't reach her any more. She will be missed.

Matthew, I'm so sorry to hear this. Your Mom and mine, Anita Laughy, were dear friends. I remember your Mom's beautiful laugh and sense of humor. She would visit with my brother Timmy and just brighten his day. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her.
God bless you as you go through this difficult time
