SLATER, JOAN S. of Waterford; October 6, 2025; age 85; Loving wife of the late James Slater; Cherished mother of Lori Stockwell, Chris Slater and Stacey Slater; Beloved grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 7; Dear sister of Patrick Doyle, Michael Doyle, Patricia Ernst and Jeanne Luzod. Mrs. Slater attended Saint Perpetua Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She was a teller at Waterford Schools Credit Union. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed her pinochle club and was an avid reader. Joan was a great supporter and advocate for the U.A.W. Local #594. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service. A brunch will follow at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the Deer Lake Athletic Club, 6167 White Lake Road, Clarkston. Interment White Chapel Memorial Cemetery.
