Joan Sudol Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 15, 2024.
Joan L. Sudol, age 80, of New Fairfield, CT passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024. Joan was born in Mamaroneck, NY to Ralph and Eleanor Langham. She married the love of her life, Ronald Sudol and had two sons, Ronald Jr. and Michael.
Joan was a licensed real estate title researcher who worked for the Collins Hannafin Law Firm for 35 years. Her dedication, devotion and talent to her profession as a real estate title researcher was unmatched. To her colleagues and peers she was known as the G.O.A.T.
Joan loved to bake cookies and pies. Her lemon meringue pie is unrivaled. She also ran the Super Bowl pool for decades. To her family, friends and coworkers she was known as the 'cookie bookie.' Joan was a certified genealogist and loved researching her family history. To fill in the names of a vast family tree, she would often take trips to visit cemeteries.
Joan was also a master seamstress; her gift of sewing enabled her to do everything from hem a pair of slacks to creating a wedding dress from scratch. Come each May, girls from every surrounding town would come to her to alter their prom gowns. Rarely would she return from a town hall without something to sew.
Joan loved to travel with her husband. They took numerous trips to Europe and throughout America. She had an adventurous nature, partaking in opportunities to try zip lining, dune buggy rides, and helicopter tours to name a few.
Joan loved animals and would feed them daily. She was personally known at Agway because of the amount of wildlife food she purchased. There were often more animals roaming her yard than the Catskill Game Farm.
Joan is now happily and peacefully with her husband Ronald, who preceded her. She leaves behind her two sons, Ronald Jr. and Michael and their families.
She led a full life and did it her way.
Funeral services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name can be made to the New Fairfield Animal Shelter, 223 CT-37, New Fairfield, CT 06812 or online at https://www.nfsaw.org/donate.

Sorry to hear Joan passed. She had many talents and went out of her way to help people. A master seamstress for us for years and helped researched our family history. Enjoyed hearing of her many travels and had no fear. She will be missed. Joan RIP with Ron

To the family of Joan Sudol ~

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Joan for over 20 years. She was funny, stubborn, had a heart of gold and the best seamstress ever! She will be missed. I know she has been reunited with Ron, the love of her life.
