Joan Faye Thomas

Joan Faye Thomas, 91, a resident of Miami, passed away at her home early Monday Morning when she went to be with her Lord and Savior. Joan was born on December 6, 1934, in Fairland at their family's home to Samuel and Birdie Jane (Cale) Jones. She would later marry Jack "Bud" Thomas in May of 1952 at Fairland Christian Church. She worked at Will Rogers Junior High in Miami in the Kitchen area until the Miami McDonald's opened. She worked there as a breakfast manager for thirty-six years. When not working, Joan enjoyed sewing, walking, and reading her bible. She and Bud attended New Hope Christian Church. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in passing by her parents, Samuel and Birdie Jones, her husband, Bud Thomas, and her sisters Betty Gray and June Jensen.

Surviving family members are her son Jack Thomas and his wife Dana of Grove, daughter Judy Gesaman and her husband Deryl of Miami, her grandchildren Casey McCalip of Rollinsville, Colorado and Sam Thomas of Miami.

Graveside services for Joan will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Fairland Cemetery with Chaplain Brian Moomey officiating. Services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
