Joan Marie "Joannie" Valentino, of Lincroft, NJ passed away unexpectedly July 13th, 2025.

Joannie was born and raised in Queens, NY and moved to the Jersey Shore in 1991. Joan fulfilled her lifetime goal of becoming a nurse, graduating from Monmouth Vocational School in 1994. Joannie was one of Lincroft's heroes working as a nurse during 9/11, assisting 9/11 victims. She was commended for her volunteering to be a COVID nurse in 2020, living in a hotel for six months working with COVID patients. Joannie was emphatic in her pursuit of helping people of all backgrounds. Joan worked extensively with geriatric patients and was one of the most compassionate people you would want as your nurse. At the time of her untimely passing, she was a working nurse of 30 years.

Joannie was a devoted mother of three children, Corinne Marie, Andrea Marie, and Teodoro "Teddy" Valentino. She loved her children dearly and always encouraged them to follow their dreams and live a life they were passionate about. She was immensely proud of her children. Joannie was a dog lover and was fond of adopting rescue dogs. She loved the family's rescue dog Georgia, adopted in 2014, and deceased lab retriever Nikko, along with Lucky a Cocker Spaniel stray.

A lifetime baseball enthusiast and NY Mets fan, Joannie loved attending Major League Baseball games. Through the years, Joannie was a Lincroft Little League mom, rooting for her children playing baseball and softball. Joannie appreciated the simplest joys in life and loved sharing them with her family and others. Joannie was a beach lover and found peace living by the beach in Long Branch with her husband Joe. Joannie and Joe settled in Lincroft in 2002.

Joan is survived by her husband of 22 years, Joe Valentino; children Corinne Marie, Andrea Marie, and Teodoro "Teddy". Joan leaves behind her devoted brother Joe Tynan, loving brother in law Michael Valentino, and favorite sister in law Rose Valentino. Surviving nieces and nephews are Isabella Valentino, Eryn and Ahnalee Tynan, and Joey Tynan.

Family and friends may visit Monday, July 21st, 2-4pm and 6-9pm at the John E. Day Funeral Home in Red Bank. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd at 10:30am at St. James RC Church in Red Bank (94 Broad Street).
