I am deeply saddened to hear of Joan´s passing . Joan was an absolute presence at Lemont Center. No matter what day, what shift , weekday or weekend , AM or PM. She was always there , always taking care of business, her staff and most importantly her patients. She was always back and forth from wing to wing and on top of it all! She gave everything to her job and her patients, and as a fellow nurse myself, I knew her dedication to her team, and to Lemont Center ran deep. My dad loved her and she always stopped what she was doing to talk to him (or give him the banter back and forth they both laughed and loved) no matter how busy she was or what fire she had to put out. She will truly be missed by everyone , and certainly had my respect. She will be very hard to replace .... They don´t make them like her anymore

Joan was THE bar by which we all judged other Directors of Nursing. I had the pleasure of working with Joan when I was the CEO for Extended Care. She was compassionate and caring to not only the residents but her staff as well. She understood good care was good business. I was with Joan just a week or so before her passing after not seeing her almost 3 years. She was still the committed force at Lemont Nursing. She will be missed. I hope her family is proud with the lives that Joan touched.

I had the honor of working with Joan for years as a Registered Nurse at The Lemont Center. She was always kind, helpful, full of knowledge, had passion for nursing, and a good friend. She was the heart of the Lemont Center. She was there for the patients and her co-workers 24/7. She loved nursing and The Lemont Center. She touched so many people in her life with her caring and kindness. She positively influenced my life and my career as a nurse. She will be missed by many.

I had the privilege of knowing Joan since I was just 17 years old, when I first became a nurses assistant. For all the years I have known Joan she truly was the hardest working, most dedicated, nurse I've ever worked with. Nursing truly was her life...the Lemont Center was her life.
It's hard to wrap my mind around the fact I'll no longer see her walking the halls of Lemont. To say she will be missed is truly an understatement, the Lemont center will never be the same without her.
After all the hard work she dedicated throughout her entire nursing career, she can finally rest in peace.
