EATON — Joan Marie Wair, 86, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at the Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton.
She was born April 29, 1937, in Dayton, to the late Norbert and Pauline (Peters) Happensack. Joan was a 1955 graduate of Trotwood-Madison High School in Trotwood. She retired from Eaton High School in 1994 after 24 years of dedicated service in the principal's office.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Wair; granddaughter Megan Wair; brother James Happensack; sister Judith Park; and nephew Timothy Happensack.
She is survived by her children, Chris (Cindi) Wair and Lisa (Randy) Moodie; her grandson Matthew Wair; and many special relatives and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at Visitation of BVM Catholic Church, 407 East Main Street, Eaton, on Friday, April 5, at 9:30 a.m. Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Eaton is assisting with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Preble County, 951 South Barron Street, Eaton, OH 45320.
