Joan Marie Webster, age 72, of Lumber City passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at her residence under the care of Coastal Hospice.
Mrs. Webster was born July 31, 1951 in Macon to the late William Easler and the late Marie Easler. She worked as a bank teller for the Bank of Lumber City and was a devoted pastor's wife for 24 years. She served many years teaching children's church at Lumber City Baptist Church and Union Springs Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her brother, Larry Easler.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Rev. Merle Webster of Lumber City; daughter, Heather (Charles) Carelock of Lumber City; son, Tim Webster of Lumber City; sister, Martha Jane Livingston of Lumber City; and cousin, Cheryl Browning of Macon. Five grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Lumber City Baptist Church with Rev. Merle Webster and Rev. David Deen officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Russell Moore, Matt Austin, Mark Livingston, Spencer Webster, Coby Carelock, and Wyatt Carelock.
Honorary Pallbearers will be all members of Union Springs Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the time of service.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
