Joann M. Benisch, 91, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2025, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.

She was born on December 1, 1933, to Cletus and Loretta Hahn. She married Kenneth Benisch on December 27, 1952. He survives. Also surviving are three children, Gary and Vickie (Hoover) Benisch of Groveland, Diane Kirkley, Debra (Jay) Arnold, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Alan (Eileen) Hahn, Ron (Sandy) Hahn, and one sister, Marylou (Bernie) Sieks.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Sue Hahn, and Robert and Karen Hahn.

Joann was a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed preparing lavish holiday meals for her family, and she was especially known for her fruitcakes and Christmas cookies. Joann also enjoyed traveling, swimming, gardening, and was an avid novel reader.

She graduated from the Academy of Our Lady High School and was a lifelong devoted Roman Catholic Christian. Joann was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and St. Boniface Women's Guild in Peoria. Before retiring she worked at Fannie May Candy and Peoria Title and Trust. She later moved to Farmington Hills, Michigan before returning to the Peoria area.

Visitation will be held at Resurrection Mausoleum on September 20, 2025, at 10:00 am followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 am. Fr. Stephen Willard will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.
