JoAnn Marie (nee Mickus) Crane, age 77 of Mentor, Ohio, passed away at Hillcrest Hospital on Thursday, August 15, 2024 after an extended illness.
She was born on November 9, 1946 in Cleveland, Ohio.
JoAnn resided in Eastlake for most of her life until moving to Mentor-on-the- Lake.
She was a retired grocery cashier, who lived to spend time with her grandchildren! She also loved to watch game shows, animal programs, and Hallmark movies, play bingo and games on her phone. "Grandma" also made the best cupcakes in town. Her kindness was felt by everyone.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her father, William Mickus; mother, Albena Turano Mickus; and brother, Frank Mickus.
She is survived by her children, Michelle (Michael) Micale and Ronald (Christina) Goertler; grandchildren, Antonio and Marisa Micale and Gavin and Gabriella Goertler; sister-in-law, Mary Grace Mickus; nieces, Tina Mickus, Nichole (Matt) Hogya and Kristen Sanders; nephew, Frank (Megan) Mickus; and great nieces and nephews, Savannah, Grace, Shelby, Colton, Rilee, Carter, Mayson, and Channing.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2024 at McMahon- Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Rt. 615, N. of Rt. 2) in Mentor, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life party to be held immediately following at Mentor Lagoons Yacht Club, Mentor, Ohio. Please join us to share some fond memories and indulge on "Grandma's Menu".

Dear Michelle, Ron and family. So sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I have su ch fond memories of our family get-togethers at Christmas time. More than just a cousin, she was like another big sister My thoughts and prayers are with you. May she rest in peace.
