Joann Louise (Bixler) Kling, age 86, of Enola, PA, and formerly of Carlisle, PA, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Joann was born on Tuesday, August 10, 1937, in Carlisle, PA to the late Harry Bixler and Ethel (Braim) Bixler. Joann was the widow of Gary Lee Kling, whom she married in 1956, and who died on March 05, 2024. In addition to her parents and husband, Joann is preceded in death by her daughter, Teresa Wiland; and her four siblings: William Bixler, Arthur Bixler, Edward Bixler, and Evelyn Stringfellow.
Joann’s survivors include her four daughters: Tawnya Kling of Mechanicsburg, PA, Tina Kling-Jenkins and her husband Keith, of Enola, PA, Tracy Shaffer and her husband Scott, of Camp Hill, PA, Tricia Kling of Clearwater, FL; her four grandchildren; Natalie Meloy and husband Justin of Mechanicsburg, Janelle Kelly and husband Tim of Dover, Pa, Dexter Mason-Kling and wife Michelle of Lewisberry, Pa, and Nia Kling of Clearwater, Fl; her two great-grandchildren, twins Ethan and Hailey Meloy; her sister, Jean Ilgenfritz; and several nieces and nephews.
Joann attended Carlisle High School. She loved being a mother and grandmother, doting on her daughters and grandchildren. Joann enjoyed the outdoors, and flowers in her garden. Her favorite places to travel were camping at the beach in Delaware and the cabin in the woods in Union County. Joann will be missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
All are welcome to join Joann’s viewing on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:15 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant Patti Vogl officiating. Joann’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the memorial service. Interment will take place at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
