JoAnn LaForge

JoAnn LaForge (JoJo) passed on Sunday March 2, 2025 at the age of 93. She is survived by her children Michael LaForge (Mary Ann), Paula Lonergan (Moe), Mary Aiello (Tommy), Mark LaForge, Jean Napolitano (Jay), Gregory LaForge, Jill Schaefer (Jerry), Carl LaForge Jr (Bridget), John LaForge (Celeste), and Patrick LaForge (Dawn), along with forty grandchildren and many great grandchildren. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband Carl LaForge, Sr, Eileen George (mother), Edward George (father). JoAnn was born in Parsons, KS on March 3, 1931. She first met Carl in their one-room schoolhouse in Kansas and they would later marry in 1955. They started their family in Wichita, KS before moving to New Orleans in 1966. JoAnn was an incredibly devoted homemaker, wife and mother her entire life. There wasn’t a sacrifice that she wouldn’t make for her family. She was a very devout Catholic serving as an excellent example to her children and grandchildren. Carl and JoAnn were parishioners of St Matthew the Apostle Church in River Ridge, LA.

Internment will be at St. Joseph Abbey in Covington, LA following a family Mass. Special thanks to all of her caregivers who provided so much attention and love for JoJo.
