JoAnn Martin Obituary

JoAnn P. Martin, 69, of Newark, passed away surrounded by family on October 14, 2025. JoAnn was the daughter of the late Palmer and Florence (Simone) Helmick. A lifelong resident of Newark, JoAnn worked for the Newark Board of Education before starting her family in the late 70's. Needing more flexible hours for family, she became an award winning Avon representative and a merchandiser for American Greetings Corporation until retirement. She is survived by her daughters April Walker and Jennifer Clarke -Rodriguez, her granddaughter Leona Rose Rodriguez, and her siblings James, Martha Jean, and Mary Jo Helmick.
Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Monday, October 20, 2025, 11-2pm. A funeral service will be celebrated at 1:30pm, followed by interment at Hollywood Cemetery, Union.
