The world became brighter on September 20, 1935, the day Joann Pulzone
was born. Joann passed peacefully in her home in Ponte Vedra Beach on
June 24, 2022 after a long and happy life. She was born and raised in the
Bronx, New York to the late Joseph and Fay Jacone. Joann was a 1953
graduate of Saint Martin of Tours High School. After graduation, she went
to work for a bank in Manhattan in accounts receivable. While working at
the bank, she met her future husband, Arthur Pulzone. The couple married
in 1958 and moved to Blauvelt, New York, where they raised their family.
Joann enjoyed dining out with her husband and close friends. They had a
regular card/game night with friends that would go late into the night. But
she especially cherished her time at home making Sunday family dinners.
All loved Joann's delicious homemade Italian dishes. In 1990 they moved
to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, to enjoy the sunshine and tropical weather.
When Joann and Arthur moved to Florida, they spent most of their time on
the beach, swimming and jumping waves in the ocean. As their family grew
with six beautiful grandchildren, they enjoyed spending time at all the
extracurricular activities the kids joined. Joann is survived by her husband
of 64 years, Arthur Pulzone; son, Thomas Pulzone; her grandchildren:
Christina Pulzone, Isabella Pulzone, and Thomas Michael Pulzone.
Daughter, Jo-Carol (predeceased) and Edward Herdemian; her
grandchildren, Eddie and wife Christina Herdemian, Montanna and
husband John Dobzelecki, and Madison Herdemian.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 30, at Our
Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Reception immediately following the
mass in the Cultural Center on the church property.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
