Donald Maillet Obituary

Donald Maillet

St. Augustine, FL - Donald Maillet, 87, passed away on July 3, 2025, at the Clyde Lassen VA Home in St. Augustine, Florida, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Donald proudly served in the United States Air Force for 10 years, including service during the Korean War. Known for his deep love of people and infectious positivity, he never met a stranger. Donald's warmth and kindness left lasting impressions wherever he went.

A man of many talents, Donald was once a beloved disc jockey known as "Dandy Don," always ready with a joke or a smile to brighten someone's day. His joy for life and genuine interest in others made him a cherished friend and companion to many.

Donald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Maillet, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. He is survived by his son Dean Maillet, daughter Dawn Gould, grandson Luke Sekelsky, and sisters Doris Walters and Rita Bulluss.

A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in Donald's memory to an Alzheimer's research organization or a veterans' charity of your choice.

Donald will be remembered for his big heart, generous spirit, and the many smiles he brought into the world.
