With her loving sisters by her side, Joann F. Rauen, 85, of Edgar, was called to her Heavenly home on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Meadows of Marathon under the care of Heartland Hospice. She was born to the late John and Regina (Hintz) Stencil on November 17, 1939, and attended St. John's Parochial School and graduated from Edgar High School. On July 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to Patrick Rauen Sr. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edgar. Sadly, Patrick passed away on January 2, 2007. Together they raised their children and farmed in the Town of Rib Falls. Along with being a homemaker, Joann and her husband Pat owned and operated a dairy farm in Rib Falls for over 34 years. Other work for Joann include Badger Basket Factory of Edgar as well as Marathon Cheese Corporation of Marathon.

Joann was a longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Poniatowski and a member of the PCCW.

Once retired, Joann and her husband were "snowbirds" and would travel to warmer weather during the winter months making wonderful memories while in Arizona; Corpus Christi, TX; Biloxi, MS and Florida. She also enjoyed many hobbies including snowmobiling; playing card games, board games and having billiards parties with friends and absolutely loved reading and telling stories to her grandchildren.

Her memory is held in the hearts of her children: Kitty (Ronald) Knetter of Edgar, Patrick (Ann) Rauen Jr. of Rib Mountain, Laura (Scott) Achterberg of Wausau and Robert (Regina) Rauen of Edgar; her grandchildren: April, Starla, Adam, Shawn, Maria, Ben, Samantha and Jacob; 17 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Adrienne Stencil of Grand Prairie, TX; Beverly (Daryl) Dvorak of Wausau and Sandra Danczyk of Marathon and brothers James (Patricia) Stencil and Terry (Debbie) Stencil, both of Edgar along with many other relatives, friends, and neighbors.

Now in Heaven, she joins her parents, John and Regina Stencil; her husband, Patrick Rauen; her granddaughter, Jamie Lynn Knetter; a great-grandson, Bennett Scott Achterberg; a brother, John, and a sister, Theresa, who died in infancy; her mother and father-in-law, Myron and Marie Rauen and brothers-in-law Herman Danczyk and Leander Rauen.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Poniatowski with Rev. Alan Wierzba officiating. Family and friends are welcome to attend the church on Wednesday for a time of visitation from 9 AM until time of service. A private burial service in the parish cemetery will be held later.

Joann's compassionate care and arrangements are provided by Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer. The family invites you to share memories and condolences at www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com.
